New Wave U.Go Plein Air Anywhere Pochade Boxes and Accessories

New Wave's U.Go Anywhere Pochade Box is designed for travel from sea to summit and anywhere in between with all types of paint media. Made from Baltic Birchwood, each hand-crafted box reveals the tree's inherent beauty in the grain, knots, and natural wood tone. The durable clear finish is non-porous, dense, and resistant to water as well as standard artist solvents and mediums. In addition, the finish is crack proof, chip proof, and non-yellowing.

Non-corrosive stainless steel and aluminum fixtures provide reliable strength where it's needed most. Strong rare earth magnets are used for the closure, canvas holder, removable side wall for easy palette cleaning and replacement, and accessory side tray attachment (sold separately). The 180° range of motion via friction hinges allows you to paint vertically, horizontally, or anything in between. Horizontal set up is perfect for watercolor painting! Teeth on the stainless steel panel holders are capable of holding panels as thin as 1/16" and stretched canvas up to 3/4" thick. Paint dabs can be stored on the palette when the lid is closed due to the recessed palette and lid.

Available in 3 sizes, each pochade box pairs with multiple accessories that allow you to customize this minimalist plein air painting box. The boxes fit a universal 1/4" tripod mount, and fold down to a book-like 1-1/4" depth. The smooth exterior, free of protruding wood or metal components, allows for quick and easy storage in any pack. Made in USA.

Pochade Box, Small - Measuring 6" x 8" x 1-1/4", the Anywhere Plein Air Pochade is ultra lightweight at just 1.35 lbs. and can hold a canvas or panel up to 9" tall. Includes a removable high density white plastic palette.

Pochade Box, Medium - Measuring 8-3/8" x 11-1/4" x 1-1/4", the mid-size Anywhere Plein Air Pochade is ultra lightweight at 2 lbs. and can hold a canvas or panel up to 10" tall. Includes a removable high density white plastic palette.

Pochade Box, Large - The largest of the Anywhere Plein Air Pochades measures 11" x 14-1/2" x 1-1/4", and can hold a canvas or panel up to 14" tall. At a little over 3 lbs, this plein air pochade is ultra lightweight. Includes a removable high density white plastic palette and one U.Go silicone Cinch. Upgrade to a grey or clear glass palette if desired (sold separately).

Cinch and Carabiners Set - Set includes 1 Cinch and 2 Carabiners. The Cinch is a strong and flexible silicone band that holds the accessory side trays to the lid of your pochade box for compact storage during transportation, and secures brushes, tools, and medium cups to a side tray. We also recommend wrapping the Cinch around your pochade during transport when using a glass palette. Combined with the Carabiners, the set becomes a unique hook system for your turpentine canister, paint towel, trash bag and more.

Glass Palettes - Available in grey or clear, these tempered glass palettes measure 9" x 13-1/2" and are designed to fit in the Large size Anywhere Plein Air Pochade Box. Oils and acrylics glide across the surface, and clean off easily with a window scraper. The grey palette enhances value and color gauging, while the clear glass provides you the option of creating your own underside color. Edges are smoothed for safety.

Plastic Palettes - Designed to fit inside Anywhere Pochade Boxes, these palettes are made from a high density durable plastic. Oil paints can be removed with solvents, while dry acrylic paint peels off. For use with all paint media.

Side Trays - Anywhere Side Trays are compatible with Anywhere Pochade Boxes for use as a brush, tool and medium cup holder, or additional palette mixing space. The 4" x 11" side tray can be used with all size pochades but is recommended for the Large size. The 4" x 8" side tray fits all size pochades but is recommended for the Small and Medium sizes. The Baltic Birch wood tray is finished with the same durable finish as the pochade. Strong rare earth magnets connect the tray to the stainless steel frame and secure the frame to the box. Each side tray includes one U.Go silicone Cinch for tray storage and other uses.

Plein Air Tripod - Designed specifically for the plein air painter, the LCS1 is a practical tripod that ticks all the boxes for studio use or outdoor painting treks: it's lightweight, compact, sturdy, and affordable. It features a dovetail quick release plate, a rigid 360 degree ball head swivel mount, retractable weight hook, nylon loop, flip leg locks for quick and easy adjustment, aluminum alloy construction, and comes with a carry bag. Compatible with all pochade boxes containing a universal 1/4" threaded tripod mount.
