We have a variety of H-frame easels that you can use in your studio, as an actual working surface, or in your gallery to display finished pieces of art. The rectangular shape and base that H-frame easels have offer stability for the artist (that's you) so that you never have to worry about working with an easel that shakes or tilts while you're working again. These easels, from brands like Best, Kilimanjaro, Klopfenstein, Mabef, Martin Universal Design, Richeson, Testrite, and Cheap Joe's, are available in a wide range of sizes and materials so that you can find the one that will best suit your needs.
Wooden easels have a classic look that most artists want. Best has products made from American red oak and solid oak, and while Kilimanjaro and Cheap Joe's build their easels from beechwood, Richeson uses Lyptus wood. Klopfenstein and Martin Universal Design have sturdy, rigid, metal easels that are nearly as long as (and sometimes even longer than) the human body. Testrite makes its easels from aluminum, accommodating canvases up to 60\" tall.
Trying to decide which easel would be best for you depends mostly on the canvas sizes you use. You can get a tabletop easel from Cheap Joe's if your canvases are on the smaller side since the tabletop easels can hold canvases up to 21 inches tall. Still, if creating masterpieces larger than life is more your style, you'll want one of the Steel Professional Art Easels from Klopfenstein. These easels can hold a canvas that's up to 89 inches tall--if you think you'll need a ladder to finish your project, this is the easel for you!
If all the options feel a bit overwhelming, we'd love to talk you through our products and help you land on the perfect easel for your home or studio. All you have to do is either give us a call during our business hours or send us an email any time of day. You are our number one priority, and we want to do everything we can to help you bring your art dreams to life, no matter how big or small.
