Every art teacher needs a great set of classroom brushes, especially since students young and old tend to handle their tools more roughly than we'd like. We have sets and individually packaged brushes from brands like Funny Brush, Royal & Langnickel, and Cheap Joe's (that's us!).

The Funny Brush is like nothing you've seen before! Artists have been using these brushes to create beautiful trees, foliage, grass, and more since 1973. Hard-to-do textures are a breeze with the Funny Brush, and clean-up is hassle-free--that's why it works great in a classroom setting! These brushes are made to be used with just about any media, including oils, acrylics, watercolors, etc. Cleaning the Funny Brush is easy: simply wipe the paint off with a tissue or cloth until all the paint has been removed. We don't recommend using turpentine or other solvents, since it could dissolve the plastic case; instead, opt for petroleum jelly after using oil paints, and stick to soap and water after painting with watercolor or acrylic paints.

Royal & Langnickel offers brush sets at fantastic values for the prices. These 120-brush sets, with brushes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, feature acrylic polymer handles that won't crack or peel even if they get left in water. The brushes also come in a reusable cardboard box so that you can keep them sorted after your students are done with them.

The Cheap Joe's brand of classroom brushes is set up so that you can either buy individual brushes or brush sets. Also called Starving Artist White Synthetic Brushes, these high-quality watercolor brushes are available at an economical price. White nylon, often referred to as white sable, gives the artist great flow and control with soft and springy bristles. Each Starving Artist brush is fashioned into a nickel ferrule with a traditional short watercolor handle; the flats feature a clear aquarelle handle for scraping and scratching back into a painting.

If you're unsure which brand or set of brushes would be best for your classroom, we'd love to walk you through your options. Give us a call or shoot us an email, and we'll be happy to help!
