The PrimaTeks are gorgeous paints on their own, and they mix beautifully with other colors as well.

Piemontite Genuine - Ground from a scarlet-streaked mineral, Piemontite Genuine is a rich, versatile color. A deep ruddy violet is the darkest value of this semi-transparent watercolor, but washes produce a lovely violet-brown granulation with a carmine tone. Perfect for adding interest to shadows or painting the mottled surfaces of autumn leaves.

This is a granulating color, meaning a grainy visual texture is created when the pigment particles settle and clump together rather than settling evenly on the painted surface. Granulation is more pronounced on textured papers.
