Yasutomo Wa Fude Brushes

Wa Fude, or literally “Japanese brushes”, were carefully selected for their high performance qualities. Beloved in Japan for their superior performance in calligraphy, these brushes each boast unique characteristics that artists will appreciate for different styles and techniques, whether it be lettering, sumi-e or watercolor.

The spring and snap of these natural bristle brushes make them perform quite differently from our other sumi-e brushes, providing a variety of performance options to suit different artists’ needs. Each brush has a hanger loop and a protective cap and is packaged in a clear bag with descriptive insert.

Wa Fude Kiyo - The Kiyo brush is excellent at creating smooth strokes and fine lines with excellent ink holding capacity. With a precise point and springy bristles, the Kiyo brush features natural hair and a bamboo handle.

Wa Fude Jyun - The Jyun brush creates smooth strokes and fine lines with excellent ink holding capacity. With a medium soft tuft, the Jyun brush has a precise point and springy bristles. Features natural hair and a bamboo handle.

Wa Fude Maki - The Maki brush excels at creating smooth strokes and fine lines with excellent ink holding capacity. With a medium soft tuft, the Jyun brush has a precise point and with a little snap. Features natural hair and a bamboo handle.
