Explore a world of possibilities with Winsor & Newton's varnishes, which complement color ranges while allowing you to control, enhance and protect your artwork.
Winsor & Newton uses 100% recycled plastic in their ergonomically designed bottles. Due to using recycled plastic, the material will sometimes have a tint to it, either slightly green or slightly yellow. Rest assured, the medium inside will be the normal color.
Dammar Varnish - Winsor and Newton Dammar Varnish is a pale yellow varnish which dries to a high gloss finish with a strong UV resistant layer for use on oil and alkyd paintings. The use of varnish enhances color intensity with a brilliant shine. This quick drying varnish tends to darken with aging and is removable with distilled turpentine. Please note that you should not use Winsor & Newton Dammar Varnish until painting is completely dry (6-12 months). Shake varnish well before use, and brush out evenly. Use a soft, fine brush to achieve an even finish. Wipe the neck of the bottle after use, to ensure the safety cap remains secure. Best for use in warm, dry conditions and do not use as a medium.
