Winsor & Newton Artists' Varnish protects paintings from dirt and grease to enhance color depth of paintings.
Winsor & Newton uses 100% recycled plastic in their ergonomically designed bottles. Due to using recycled plastic, the material will sometimes have a tint to it, either slightly green or slightly yellow. Rest assured, the medium inside will be the normal color.
Gloss Varnish - Winsor & Newton Gloss Varnish is a final clear, non-yellowing varnish with a gloss finish for the protection of oil, alkyd and acrylic paintings. Artist's Varnish seals the microscopic pores on the oil paint film and balances out the surface sheen. Varnish adds a strong UV resistant layer and is removable. It is recommended to let oil paintings dry for six to twelve months before varnishing. Shake varnish well before use, and brush out evenly. For liquid varnish, use a soft, fine brush to achieve an even finish. Wipe the neck of the bottle after use, to ensure the safety cap remains secure.
