Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colors are a genuine oil color, which can be thinned with water and cleaned with soap and water. Each oil color is made from modified linseed oil and modified safflower oil, specifically developed to appear and work just like conventional oil paint. This enables the artist to thin and clean up with water rather than hazardous solvents such as turpentine or mineral spirits.

Payne's Grey - Payne's Gray is a dark blue grey made from a mixture of Ultramarine, Mars Black and sometimes Crimson. It was named after the 18th century watercolorist William Payne who created the mixture and often recommended it to his students as an alternative to plain black.
