Tom has developed a 2-part evening workshop that takes the student on a step-by-step process to creating a finished painting. You will learn new watercolor techniques and secrets on how to create an award winning painting. On the 1st evening, you will learn how to paint Florida foliage, wet/dry sand, ocean waves, water, islands, skies, clouds and so much more. You’ll paint these parts along with Tom on separate sheets of paper without the pressure of a finished painting. On the 2nd evening, you will put all the parts together (step-by-step) in a new effort and learn to paint the focal point first, incorporate dramatic value changes, accomplish unity, improve design, composition, color harmony and more! You will complete a classic coastal scene painting by the end of the workshop. Tom provides a comprehensive amount of information for building strong foundations which can be applied to all your future paintings. Prior to the workshop, students will receive the photo reference, preliminary sketch, lesson guides, video tips and techniques, articles to read, bonus videos to watch, and color lesson guides to print out. You can follow the same scene that Tom demonstrates, one of the other options he will send, or work from your own composition. Tom’s 3 camera set up makes for great viewing of his demos and close-ups, and you can also benefit by listening as he helps each of the other students. The demonstrations will be recorded and available to replay, pause, rewind, fast-forward and screenshot, at your own pace and convenience, for 4 WEEKS following the workshop. As a bonus, Tom will continue to assist you by email and/or text for 4 WEEKS, answering your questions, reviewing your work, and offering suggestions for your paintings. This class is for artists having basic watercolor skills, and up.
