Ron Ranson Hake Brushes are sold throughout the country to artists who wish to emulate the "fast and loose" techniques of professional artist Ron Ranson.

Hake brushes are unique flat, wide brushes that are ideal for applying washes over large areas, sizing, gluing, and more. The flat handle and soft goat hair provide excellent brush control and absorbency. A Hake brush is an indispensable tool when used on delicate and absorbent Oriental papers and on art and craft projects.

Ron Ranson's watercolor paintings are both impressionistic and representational. Using his signature hake brush, Ron popularized the use of the hake brush for landscape painting. His aim is to produce strong and colorful paintings with an economy of strokes and a limited palette. He teaches the freedom of expression and simplicity and is one of the world's most traveled watercolor teachers. Ron is a seemingly tireless watercolorist, with a worldwide reputation, having written over 25 books on painting and made many instructional videos that are sold throughout the world. He also writes articles for art magazines in England, Holland, Norway, and Australia, and has been the European editor of the prestigious publication, the "International Artist".

Note - The hair used in the production of these hake brushes is goat, so please clean in cold water, otherwise there might be a tendency to shrink.
