Regardless of how long you have painted, there are valuable lessons and techniques that have probably been overlooked or simply forgotten. This workshop is a great opportunity for watercolorists of all levels to reacquaint themselves with solid techniques AND experiment with a host of new ones. Robin will demonstrate, in a clear and concise way, how to fine-tune the paint-water ratio, mix pigment more on paper than palette, use drawing as a design element, get creative with masking fluid, practice using brushes to their full advantage, build strong values, practice lifting techniques, use stencils, and lots more. You’ll find these three days filled with lots of “ahah” moments.
This all-encompassing workshop includes many tips for making better paintings, including working through the stage where we think “all is lost.” It will benefit anyone ready to take their skills to the next level, as well as those needing a little kickstart. Robin’s demos will include a variety of subjects, such as: landscape, architecture, and figures. Demonstration subjects will be emailed to everyone about 1 week prior to class.
The live, interactive sessions (hosted through Zoom) will be recorded, and enrolled participants will receive lifetime, unlimited access to the videos.

Robin Poteet honed her drawing skills through a career in illustration and graphic design. Since transitioning to painting full-time, her watercolors have received national attention and numerous awards. She is as passionate about teaching as she is painting and is a popular instructor for workshops in the US and abroad. Her approach is relaxed and informative and she has the unique gift of pushing students without their fully realizing it. This class is sure to sell out quickly, so sign up soon!
