Rembrandt Soft Pastels are world-renowned for their pure pigments, a high degree of lightfastness, and velvety softness. This softness is achieved by the use of kaolin, an extra-fine clear china clay.
Rembrandt Pastels are ideal for layering techniques. Their softness allows them to be applied over existing layers of pastel and not move the color.
Rembrandt Soft Pastels are available in a variety of pastel color sets as well as portrait and landscape color assortments.
Most Rembrandt Soft Pastels are packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes, with snug-fitting foam to protect each stick. Individual sticks are paper wrapped and measure 2-3/4" long x 7/16".
Half-Stick Sets - Select Rembrandt Soft Pastels are also available in half stick sets. The half stick size is valued as much for being sturdy as it is for being economical. Its strength enables it to withstand extensive handling and traveling. The low price point enables artists to afford far more colors. Half stick pastels have the exact same pigment and binders composition as the full sticks. Half sticks measure 1-3/8" long and are unwrapped.
Wooden Box Sets - Some Rembrandt Soft Pastel Sets are available in a natural hardwood wood box complete with brass hardware, interior drawers and leather handles. Each Rembrandt Soft Pastel is protected by snug fitting foam insert.
