Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Acrylics feature a thick, buttery consistency with a high-concentration of lightfast, artist-quality pigment. Heavy Body Acrylic gives you rich, permanent color that's ideal for traditional painting techniques, including alla prima and impasto textures, as well as experimental, collage, printmaking, and mixed media applications.
This professional acrylic paint is particularly well suited to retaining the peaks and textures of brushstrokes, and the mark-making of painting knives. The paint film remains flexible when dry, and even thick applications will not crack or chip over time. Each color dries to a satin finish. You can freely modify the sheen, viscosity, and transparency with Liquitex Acrylic Mediums.
Ultramarine Blue (Red Shade) - This is a single pigment, rich transparent blue with red undertones, making it lean towards violet. Allegedly named because it was thought to be 'bluer than the sea', ultramarine was originally made from semi-precious lapis lazuli. The current pigment was created by French chemist Guimet in 1828 as a synthetic, but chemically-identical alternative.
