Joe's Prime Really Good Acrylic Mediums

Use Joe's Prime Really Good Acrylic Mediums to extend and thin acrylic paints. Joe's Prime Acrylic Mediums offer artists several ways to build texture. They range in consistency from pourable to moldable.

Binder Medium - A water-based acrylic emulsion used for sealing most surfaces in preparation for painting. It can also be used between paint layers as a barrier coat.

Clear Gel - Works great as a paint extender and for transparent glazing techniques. Ideal for monoprinting or overprinting. It may also be used as a transparent extender for water-based screenprinting inks, and as a collage glue and sealer. It works as a release agent when applied to a surface prior to the paint application. Dries to a satin finish.

Impasto Gel - A thick, fast drying, water-based acrylic gel designed to exaggerate structure and add textural effects to paint. Impasto Gel can also be used as an adhesive to bond other materials to the painting. Great for collage or mixed media.

Modeling Paste - A-ﾠvery thick, textural paste used to exaggerate structure. Use it to create strong textural interest at any stage in the painting process. Dries white. It can be mixed with paint to create a colored ground or painted over once it's dry.

Retarder - Add small amounts of Joe's Prime Retarder Medium to acrylic paint to slow down the drying time, allowing you to work the paint longer. Dries clear.

Texture Paste - May be used to create texture before or during painting and may be mixed directly into your palette color or used alone. Ideal for special effects, it remains flexible when dry.
