La Perle des Encres, or "The Jewel of Inks", Herbin is the oldest name in pen inks in the world, created in Paris in 1700. Herbin Standard Fountain Pen Inks are crafted from all natural dyes for a collection of smooth-flowing lightfast colors that perform well even on cheap papers without too much feathering or bleed-through. They're also beautiful when used with a brush as liquid watercolors. The water-based ink easily cleans out of your fountain pen. Comes in 30 ml. glass bottles with a handy built in pen stand.
Vert Empire - This color, Green Empire, represents the proclamation of Napoleon Bonaparte who famously crowned himself Emperor, taking the imperial crown (the laurel crown) from the hands of Pope Pie VII to put it on his own head. This scene is depicted in the painting "The Coronation of Napoleon" by Jacques-Louis David. It was a tradition among the Greeks and the Romans to crown poets and winners with a laurel wreath.
