Golden Black Gesso is a flexible liquid ground that seals, protects, and gives "tooth" to substrates, which promotes paint adhesion. It is formulated to accept a wide variety of media on many commonly used painting surfaces. The more layers added, the smoother the surface becomes.
Golden Black Gesso comes ready-to-use, but can be mixed with water for thinner applications. The black color offers a dark ground on which colors and values immediately 'pop' to life when applied, unlike working on a bright white ground.
