Gamblin's contemporary mediums are true to historic working properties, yet safer and more permanent. These painting mediums extend and modify the working properties of oil colors, offering fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Gamblin's mediums broaden the visual qualities of oil color while increasing the transparency of paint layers and creating a range of surface qualities from high gloss to matte.

Neo Megilp - This soft gel medium maintains the body of oil colors, dries at a moderate rate and remains workable for hours. Neo Megilp produces a luminous Turner-like atmosphere and imparts a smooth, silky feel while increasing transparency and flow. This medium gives colors a satin gloss and is made from contemporary materials so it will not turn yellow or darken as it did in the 17th and 18th centuries. Gamblin Neo Megilp may also replace Maroger Medium for artists who love the working properties but are now concerned about Maroger's poor aging qualities. Available in a 4.2 oz. botte.
