Gamblin Galkyd Mediums

Gamblin's contemporary mediums are true to historic working properties, yet safer and more permanent. These painting mediums extend and modify the working properties of oil colors, offering fluid consistency for expressive mark making to a stiff paste for creating thick, crisp marks. Gamblin's mediums broaden the visual qualities of oil color while increasing the transparency of paint layers and creating a range of surface qualities from high gloss to matte.

Galkyd - Gamblin Galkyd is a fast-drying painting medium that thins oil colors while increasing transparency and gloss. When used in greater proportions with oil color, Galkyd will level brushstrokes, creating an enamel-like surface that will be touch-dry in approximately 24 hours.

Galkyd Lite - Galkyd Lite Medium thins oil colors, increases transparency and gloss while its thin layers are touch-dry in 24 to 30 hours. When used in moderation with oil colors, Galkyd Lite retains brushstrokes, is more fluid and less glossy compared to Gamblin Galkyd Medium.
