The Fredrix Pro Series Dixie Cotton Canvas Kit allows you to stretch your own large-format canvas easily and quickly. Everything comes in a long, narrow box that's easier to ship, transport, and store. This DIY canvas kit is a great value for artists who work large but don't want to invest the time and power tools needed to build large canvases from scratch.
Professional Dixie #123 Canvas features superior quality, medium texture, 100% cotton duck canvas that's double-primed with acid-free acrylic titanium gesso. The canvas starts at 12 oz. raw and becomes a heavyweight 17-1/2 oz. when primed. It's a versatile option for oils, acrylics, water-soluble oils, paint markers, permanent markers, spray paints, and alkyds. The kiln-dried stretcher bars are a deep 1-3/8" gallery profile, and are sourced from sustainable forests.
Each kit contains Fredrix archival canvas, four gallery wrap 1-3/8" profile stretcher bars, corner and cross braces, a "Clever Lever" for simple stretching with no pliers required, step-by-step instructions, and assembly screws.
Note - Assembly required. You will need a screwdriver and staple gun (not included).

The name was changed (Friedrichs to Fredrix), but our mission has not. Our best selling canvases are universally primed for oil, acrylic or alkyd paints, and we still prime our finest canvas the old fashioned way… picked, pumiced and primed by hand with oil based ground.
