Fredrix Blue Label Ultra-Smooth pre-stretched canvas features a smoother, finer texture that's ideal for portraits and other fine detail work. Made of superior quality blended PolyFlax/cotton duck, it's triple-primed with acid-free acrylic gesso, giving it a hefty 12 oz. primed weight. These ready-to-paint canvases are a versatile option for oils, acrylics, water-soluble oils, inks, paint markers, spray paints, and alkyds.
The canvas is discreetly stapled on the back, allowing you to paint on all four edges and hang it with or without a frame. The kiln-dried stretcher bars resist warping. Larger sizes include single or double bracing for added support.
Traditional Profile - This standard 3/4" thick canvas is a traditional style of stretched canvas that is lightweight and fits easily in most pre-made frames.
Gallery Profile - This extra deep 1-3/8" depth canvas offers a chunkier, thicker profile and is ideal for unframed paintings and larger format artworks where extra stability is required.

| Company Info: | Fredrix was founded in 1868 by E. H. Friedrichs. Although, he spent much of his time on trains and coaches drumming up business, he was much more than a salesman. He was a businessman, a chemist, an inventor, an innovator and he was the first in America to manufacture artist canvas for the trade. Although the art of manufacturing artist canvas has changed since the 1800s, the product we make today is very similar to the canvas we made over 140 years ago. The name was changed (Friedrichs to Fredrix), but our mission has not. Our best selling canvases are universally primed for oil, acrylic or alkyd paints, and we still prime our finest canvas the old fashioned way… picked, pumiced and primed by hand with oil based ground. Whether your choice is a machine primed canvas with universal acrylic gesso or hand primed canvas with natural glue sizing and oil based ground, you can trust Fredrix to provide you with your best overall painting experience! |
