Fabriano Artistico Extra White Watercolor Paper delivers the purest bright white paper available without the use of optical brighteners or bleaches. It's mould-made from 100% cotton, is chorine- and acid-free, and is internally and externally sized with a plant-based synthetic, vegan-friendly sizing. The enhanced quality sizing offers increased surface resistance to handle the toughest scrubbing and scraping, improved color lifting, and consistent texture and absorbency.

Each sheet has two natural deckled edges and two cut edges, with a running watermark. Not just for watercolor, it's suitable for all water media, charcoal and pastel, graphite and other drawing media, printmaking, and even digital printing.

Artistico watercolor paper is manufactured at a world renown historic mill located in the north central region of Italy that dates back to the mid-13th century.

Cold Press - This lightly textured paper surface is the most popular finish for watercolor paintings. It reflects light well, retaining the transparent quality of watercolors. The light tooth makes it easier to achieve certain details, while the slightly rougher texture shows off granulating colors beautifully. Not limited to watercolors, it's also recommended for gouache, acrylic, airbrush, graphite, pastels, and charcoal. A versatile paper texture.

Hot Press - Hot Press paper is the smoothest of watercolor papers, making it ideal for detailed artwork because the surface allows for the most delicate of details. For this reason, it's a favorite with illustrators and botanical artists. It also digitally scans well due to this lack of texture. Hot Press is also recommended for gouache, acrylic, colored pencil, pen and ink, and technical pens.

Rough Press - Rough finish paper has an effect close to that of handmade paper, with a strongly pronounced tooth that naturally shows lots of texture in painting and highlights the effects of granulating colors. It's ideally suited for bold, expressive techniques rather than detail. Rough Press is also recommended for acrylics, pastel, and charcoal.

Soft Press - Soft Press is a surface texture unique to Fabriano. It sits between the roughness of Cold Press paper and the smoothness of Hot Press paper with only a slight tooth. It's versatile enough for both detailed and expressive painting, as well as calligraphy, drawing, and printmaking.
