Expertly handcrafted in the USA, Eric's Plein Air Watercolor Frames were designed by a plein air watercolorist to save time so painters can focus on the fun parts of traveling and painting. The unique patent-pending design holds a half or quarter sheet of watercolor or drawing paper in a compression frame, making it easy to move from one painting to the next in a matter of seconds. The interior edge’s rubber gasket restricts pigment from entering the border, thus eliminating the need to “tape off" the edges. This also makes it simple to stretch watercolor paper quickly.
These plein air travel easels are constructed of polyurethaned maple hardwood and stainless steel hardware with a centered, threaded standard tripod connection on the base (tripod sold separately). Each frame comes with electro-polished stainless steel accessories which are lightweight, easy to clean, safe to handle, and durable. By attaching these tools directly to the frame’s edge wherever you'd like, the watercolor painting experience is more direct, efficient, and customized!
Each plein air kit includes the watercolor frame, pair of clamps, cup or jar holder, brush holder, paint tray, palette holder, and rule of third decals that can be added on to help with your compositions.
Le Quart Quarter Sheet Watercolor Frame - This frame holds an 11" x 15" sheet of watercolor or drawing paper. A 1-1/4" border is created by the frame. Weighs 6 lbs. and measures 11" x 15" x 1-5/8". LeQuart will fit in a small carry-on suitcase!
La Moitié Half Sheet Watercolor Frame - This frame holds a 15" x 22" sheet of watercolor or drawing paper. A 1-1/4" border is created by the frame. Weighs 8 lbs. and measures 15" x 22" x 1-5/8".

| Company Info: | In August of 2014, artist Eric Davis began painting 50 plein air watercolor paintings of California piers. The series was completed in 17 months after traveling over 11,350 miles. The resulting 116-page book, The California Pier Series, includes process tips alongside his paintings that spanned a distance of 883 miles from North to South. Committed to using the same materials for each painting, Eric used watercolor blocks clamped to his art horse turned on end. The block’s paper required a time-consuming taping off of the border, which upon removal, often ripped off some of the painting. Also disappointed by the failing integrity of the block, sometimes as early as the 7th sheet of the 20 sheet block, Eric dreamed of a single sheet option. Now instead of investing in a costly block of 20 sheets, a single sheet purchase yields two paintings with the LaMoitié and four with the LeQuart Plein Air Watercolor Frames.
