A Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor Sticks offer the same superior intensity as the Daniel Smith line of Extra Fine Watercolor paints with the convenience and portability of half pans. Each stick is packed with pure pigment and just enough gum arabic to form a solid stick. Watercolor sticks produce vibrant, strong color when wet, or use them dry to build texture. They're highly reactive with water and release rich, creamy colors. Ideal for sketching, developing color values, and building expressive marks, Daniel Smith Watercolor Sticks combine the best of drawing with painting. They're ideal for mixed media.
Ultramarine Blue - Ultramarine Blue plots cooler and bluer than the more saturated French Ultramarine. Temperature aside, both blues have equal permanence, lightfastness and transparency. Ultramarine Blue is slightly less granular in concentrated washes. For less saturation, sedimentation, and cost, use Ultramarine Blue unmixed for vibrant crayon-like color, or mix it with a cool red for dark, effective neutrals.
This is a granulating color, meaning a grainy visual texture is created when the pigment particles settle and clump together rather than settling evenly on the painted surface.
