A Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor Sticks offer the same superior intensity as the Daniel Smith line of Extra Fine Watercolor paints with the convenience and portability of half pans. Each stick is packed with pure pigment and just enough gum arabic to form a solid stick. Watercolor sticks produce vibrant, strong color when wet, or use them dry to build texture. They're highly reactive with water and release rich, creamy colors. Ideal for sketching, developing color values, and building expressive marks, Daniel Smith Watercolor Sticks combine the best of drawing with painting. They're ideal for mixed media.

Cerulean Blue Chromium - This sky blue inorganic pigment is granular with medium-light value. Highly permanent and extremely low-staining, Cerulean Blue Chromium creates exciting granulation and settling washes. A dab of this light blue into a damp wash such as Burnt Sienna creates a halo effect around the more dense Cerulean. This is especially effective when Quinacridone Gold or Quinacridone Burnt Orange are used in the moist underpainting. This technique is great for rendering lichen and Spanish Moss. Add Buff Titanium, Undersea Green and touches of Lunar Black and the creative fun truly begins! For a misty landscape or that dusky quality on eggplant, grapes and plums, think Cerulean.

This is a granulating color, meaning a grainy visual texture is created when the pigment particles settle and clump together rather than settling evenly on the painted surface.
