Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pads

Clairefontaine's Pastelmat products are developed to meet the specifications of the most demanding pastel, charcoal, and graphite artists. The singular surface is a true innovation that combines the advantages of two traditional papers. Fine cellulose fiber particles affixed to the surface create a velvety drawing substrate that will hold multiple layers of pastel and reduce the need for fixative. The smoothness of the cork grain in the adhesive ensures longevity. Pastelmat supports all pastel types as well as most dry and wet media, including oil pastels, charcoal, colored pencils, acrylics, watercolors, and gouache.

This archival artist paper is acid-free, lightfast, and water-resistant for use with both wet and dry media. It's a rigid 170 lb. thickness (or 360 gsm) for a luxurious and sturdy performance. Available in 12 sheet pads with a glassine sheet between each card to protect your artwork from smudging.
