Bockingford is a beautiful English watercolor paper, traditionally made on a cylinder mould machine at the centuries-old St Cuthbert's Mill. It's made of 100% high alpha cellulose wood-free bleached chemical pulp buffered with calcium carbonate, and is acid-free and archival.

This is an extremely forgiving watercolor paper valued by professional and amateur artists worldwide. Its unique surface is created using natural woolen felts that give a distinctive random texture to the finished sheet.

Bockingford paper is appreciated for its excellent color-lifting abilities, enabling the artist to make corrections and get back to the bright white base paper without issue. This 140 lb. paper can also take heavy washes. It's internally and externally sized, and each block includes 12 sheets glued on all 4 sides.

Bockingford offers quality watercolor paper at an affordable price. Not just for watercolor, this paper is also suitable for acrylic, gouache, pastel, pen and ink, graphite, charcoal, intaglio, letterpress, inkjet, calligraphy, and silkscreen.

Cold Press - This lightly textured paper surface is the most popular finish for watercolor paintings. It reflects light well, retaining the transparent quality of watercolors. The light tooth makes it easier to achieve certain details, while the slightly rougher texture shows off granulating colors beautifully. Not limited to watercolors, it's also recommended for gouache, acrylic, airbrush, graphite, pastels, and charcoal. A versatile paper texture.
