Best Pro-Bar System and Accessories

The Best Pro-Bar System prevents bending and warping resulting from humidity and dryness. The combination of the finest kiln-dried wood and specially milled aluminum create a strong and rigid support. Each bar selected must be free of knots and completely straight. Ideal for large scale painting.

All the bars are designed so that the canvas is always a full half inch from the stretcher bar to eliminate "ghost" impressions on the canvas. The rounded back edge reduces surface friction and allows for a smoother, tighter draw of the fabric for a snug, more even painting surface.

Best Pro Bars may be cut to any length. Best has made custom Pro Bar frames as large as 13' x 22'. Call for quotes and test the limits.

Cross braces are important. Remember that a painting may hang for years, and a long length of lumber can bow. Many artists require extra strength and stability in their stretcher bars and that's why Best Artist Products manufacture the highest quality cross braces. Best Pro-Bar Cross Braces are made from sturdy, kiln dried pine.

Aluminum Corner L-Bracket Set - Best Pro-Bars must be assembled with Aluminum Corner L-Bracket Inserts (sold separately) Use four corners per frame, or eight corners for optimum strength. For larger canvases (36" and up) two packs are recommended. Sold in packs of 4.

Richeson Cross Brace Brackets - A universal bracket designed to work with all sizes of stretcher bars. The measurements for the physical bracket are 3" wide x 1-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep. The size of the brace it will accept in the slot is 1-3/4" wide x 3/4" deep. Slotted design allows for maximum adjustment of canvas tension. Cross Braces are recommended for any canvas over 36". Includes two brackets and 6 screws. One unit ships free with each cross brace.

Best Pro-Bar Metal Corner Keys Kit - Best Corner Keys allow tightening or loosening of the canvas with the turn of a nut. Each kit contains a set of four keys which can be mounted by using the pre-drilled holes on the Aluminum Pro-Bars or by making your own with a 3/32" drill bit. Keys are optional, but highly recommended. Sold in packs of 4.
