Ampersand Museum Series Gessobord is a semi-smooth, semi-absorbent surface excellent for oil and acrylic painting. Save time by not having to prime and sand gesso before painting! Gessobord painting panels are crafted from premium, warp-resistant 1/8" FSC-certified Hardbord that is protected with Ampersand's proprietary Archiva-Seal to prevent yellowing. Each artist panel is coated with professional-grade acrylic gesso that is acid-free, archival, and museum-quality.
Gessobord's hardbord ensures that your artwork is supported to prevent warping, bowing, or movement damage. It is strong enough to hold up to the most rigorous palette knife painting and heavy layers of collage and will not bow or flex like canvas. Gessobord is recommended for acrylic, airbrush, casein, cold wax, collage, graphic marker, image transfers, mixed media, oil, paint pouring, and printmaking.
No stretching, priming, or mounting is required, making these panels a perfect surface for plein air. Gessobord can also be framed or displayed without framing and glass if desired. Each panel has clean edges.

1/8" Flat Panel - These flat, un-cradled panels are ideal for plein air painting for their sturdy portability. The edges are cleanly finished and ready to pop in a frame.
3/4" Cradled - Available with a 3/4" cradle for hanging with no additional framing. Edges are sanded, so you can apply your favorite ground to create an extra-dimensional painting.
2" Deep Cradled - The innovative and elegant cradles provide extra support and presentation all in one. The Deep Cradle panels have a 2" birch plywood cradle attached flush with the back edge of each panel. The plywood sides may be stained, painted, gessoed, waxed or left unfinished to customize and enhance your work.
