Each watercolor stick is dipped in a single layer of water-soluble paraffin wax for protection during transit and to protect your hands while working. To remove this thin outer layer of wax, rub the stick surface on a scrap piece of paper, or wash the stick with warm water, similar to removing paraffin wax from an apple. The tip of the watercolor sticks are ready for use out of the box.

New Gamboge - New Gamboge is a warm yellow, and Joe suggests mixing it with Royal Amethyst to create a brown color or mixing it with Ivory Black to create a Yellow Green color. Joe suggests mixing New Gamboge with Peacock Blue to create 'some kinda' green.
