Amaco No. 46 Buff Stoneware is an excellent clay for making durable dishes, sculpture, planters, patio vases and other utility and decorative ware. Ideal for all hand methods of modeling including slab, push and pull, coil, sculpture and wheel throwing.
Bisque fire to Cone 04 (1971ºF, 1077ºC). When fired at the recommended glaze firing of Cone 5 (2205ºF), bisque is buff colored with 12% shrinkage and 1.8% absorption. Clay fired to Cone 10 (2381ºF) will be a soft gray color with 13.2% shrinkage and 0% absorption.
This 50 lb. box includes two 25 lb. blocks of clay, each in a polyethylene storage bags, so feel free to use the amount required and store the rest for future use. Clay in moist form presents no hazard.
