Closing FAQ

We want to express our deepest gratitude for your support throughout the years. It has been an absolute joy to serve you and be a part of your creative journey. As we shut our doors, we want to assure you that we are still here to answer any questions you may have, and we've included some answers to common inquiries to help in this transition. 

Why is this happening?

  • The decision was made due to economic strain within the industry that made it difficult for Cheap Joe's to continue to provide the services our customers have come to expect.

As customers, is there anything we can do? 

  • Help us deplete our inventory so that we can continue to pay our employees for as long as possible.

When will the following locations close?

    • When will Asheville close? TBD
    • When will Charlotte close? TBD
    • When will Boone close? TBD
    • When will online orders stop? April 30th.

When will discounts start? Will they increase over time?

  • Discounts on some items have begun already.

What should I do with my gift cards?

  • Your gift cards are still good for as long as we're open.

When is the last workshop? 

  • Our last workshop is Anne Abgott's Tulip Time in Watercolor on March 31, 2025. To sign up please click this link to our workshop page.

What will happen to American Journey paints?

  • There are efforts to keep all Cheap Joe's branded products, including American Journey, alive. Will let you know where you can continue to purchase these items as soon as possible.

Who should we support after Cheap Joe's is officially closed?

  • Support your local family owned Art Supplier if possible.
